Struthless #IsolatedArtChallenge #5

My 5th artwork in the Struthless #IsolatedArtChallenge. The prompt was "A self portrait in isolation" and in these uncertain times my day-to-day life has barely changed. With my wife being considered an essential worker at this time it is still just me and my daughter every single day. We don't go out at all anymore and there is no trips to Nanna's but other than that life has not changed. Those of you with toddlers know that they make sure to remind you that the world revolves around them (as it should) and drawing my self portrait was no different. Little Lita Lou had to push me to the back and get front and center where she belongs.I know a lot of people look down on stay at home Dads but it is the most rewarding experience and I wouldn't change it for anything!

Struthless #IsolatedArtChallenge #3

My 3rd entry into the #IsolatedArtChallenge is for the prompt: "A Famous person with 'at' in their name drawn as a bat e.g. Bat Damon". Naturally I chose one of the Queens of Rock 'n Roll Pat Benatar or in this case Bat Benatar (Have a good chortle to that one, You're welcome)

As always Stay Frosty

Struthless #IsolatedArtChallenge #2

My second time joining in on the struthless69  #isolatedartchallenge the prompt is: Coronavirus as a person...but sexy. I interpreted the brief as what human form would Covid 19 take if it was trying to infect the most people possible and this image immediately came to mind. Who could resist? I know I’d be infected.

I drew the picture but did not make the dating app graphic, I just put it on a template for funsies.

Struthless #IsolatedArtChallenge #1

Artist, youtuber and general inspiration Struthless designed an art challenge called the #IsolatedArtChallenge which is a 14 day long list of prompts that are to be used to create a piece of art. Now due to life and commissions I wont be able to do all of the briefs but I will try to join in on as much of the fun as possible. Here is the first one which was the day 2 brief: A 2020 Youtube click-bait thumbnail. I based the sexy AF guy in the green hat on the sickest rapper in Australia Lil Sick, Go buy his album and Stay Frosty.

Night Terrors Cartoon Commission

Hey my fellow humans! I recently was hired to do two commissions of the group 'The Night Terrors'. First one was the three of them in cartoon form. I had a lot of fun with these as they look like Power Rangers villains which means they look awesome! I will share the second commission soon but until then Stay frosty

Koala-T Week 5: Still not back

I promised I'd get back to the Koalas but I am still working on commissions so this is not the return to Koala-t content. However I did have a weeks worth I hadn't posted yet so here are those done at the end of Feb.

I have been working on two cool commissions I can't wait to share and I have another one to work on after those two. I started the year off strong by drawing koala's ever day for almost 40 days in a row and also writing everyday for almost 40 days (Some of which I will share on here soon) but for the month of March I have fallen off. Commissions take priority and every time I have tried to do something of my own I seem to get writers block. I plan to reset my personal challenges when I have finished these commissions so I can improve and improve. Well that's the plan.

My personal work has been unseen
Both writing and the Koala theme
I'll get back, You know I'm Hella keen
Until then though I'm gonna dream
Create a scene like a Drama Queen
My creativity hidden for the time being
Like symptoms of Covid-19
Until next time stay safe and Stay Frosty

More Commissions

I plan to reboot the Koala challenge soon but I have been hired to do more commissions. They way I see it is forcing myself to draw daily and post it has cause my commissions to pick up. I just finished a really cool piece but I can't share it yet so here is one I forgot to post a while back. Enjoy.

Here is a commission from a while back I did for Sharon and Johno to commemorate their late Fur bay.

Quick turn around

In my previous post I mentioned that the Simpsons commission gave me a confidence boost I didn't know I needed to do my next commission that I hadn't got yet. Well this was that piece. A good friend of mine wanted a drawing done for his friend to give to him as a gift on Saturday, He asked me on the Monday night and I had already made plans for Friday so he was to pick it up Thursday afternoon. This gave me Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning to get it done, sweet. Oh but i forgot to mention that I take care of the most beautiful toddler in the world, AKA my daughter Lita, during the day.

The sketch and plan was laid out on Tuesday and started the detail on Wednesday. I gave Lita some extra movie time so I could get it done BUT that wasn't good enough as at one point she took my pen out of my hand and ran away with it, Hiding it among her toys which took a good 20 mins- half hour to find. Needless to say I was feeling guilty for not giving her 100% of my attention but it had to be done. Some of the details in the gold plate had to be totally ignored but the job was complete on time and delivered to what I am told was a very happy man and an even happier mother which is great to here.

Even after all the not sleeping and stressing I am happy with the result for the time and speed I did it in. Here it is.

Til next time Stay Frosty.

Simpsonized!

Had to put the Koalas on hold for a minute as I got two commissions that had quick turnaround deadlines and the shorter deadlines mixed with taking care of a toddler meant I needed to maximize my free time to get the commissions done. The Koalas will return in the next few days don't you stress too much but before that here is one of those mentioned pieces.

I was asked by one of my favorite people on the planet to draw herself and her fiancee as characters from 'The Simpsons' for his birthday. Now I almost didn't do it cause drawing the background seemed like a huge task and I hadn't drawn Simpsons characters since high school. I am glad I did it tho, It showed me I could get something quality done in limited time which I needed before I did my next commission which I will share at a later date.

The Birthday gift was a big success and I'm very happy with how they Simpsonizing went. Here is the art and as always Stay Frosty
